The action and efficiency of lasers depends on the absorption of the laser rays from the dark pigment of hair called melanin.
When the skin is tanned it also produces melanin however, which is why it is better you are not very tanned while undergoing laser treatments, since the laser rays will also be absorbed by the skin and not hair only. The risk of skin-burn by laser increases on tanned skins and the treatment may be more painful.
We therefore suggest taking care of your skin, using suntan and avoiding excess radiation for a healthier and younger looking skin !
